SuperF*ckers

What the heck is going on here? These are ‘redlines’. Basically, this is an early version of designer Manny Hernandez’s stab at drawing some of the SuperF*ckers based off of the comic books. Then James Kochalka took Manny’s drawings and pointed out some important features that make the SuperF*ckers really look like the f*ckers they are. You’d be surprised at how important small features can be - like where on the head someone’s ears are, or which direction Grotus’s icky bumps go, or even how much it can change Super Dan if his hairline isn’t quite right (he just wouldn’t be as super). Most interesting to me though is how smoothly these two great artist were able to combine their unique styles and sensibilities together to bring you the SuperF*ckers you know and love today!  -Mike (Source: superf-ckers.cartoonhangover.com)

What the F*ck is SuperF*ckers So we told you about our original series, Bravest Warriors last week. This week, I want to tell you all about our other Cartoon Hangover series, SuperF*ckers.  SuperF*ckers follows the the daily life of a team of teenage superheroes. It’s exactly what you’d expect  - they drink, they smoke, they curse like sailors, and they all fight each other to be team leader. I said teenage superheroes - what were you expecting? There is a whole team of these wackos that you’ll meet, as well as wanna be superheroes waiting to try out, Omnizod the Lord of Dimension Zero, Grotus the… well, I’m not sure what he is, and Shitstorm!  Created by James Kochalka, of American Elf fame, we’ve been huge fans of this four-book comic series for ages. We tried our darndest to get it made into something big, but surprisingly, we were having a hard time getting the movie and television bigwigs to pick up a show called SuperF*ckers, so we decided that we’d do something even bigger - the Internet. Late this fall you’ll be able to catch this series on our YouTube channel, Cartoon Hangover. In the mean time, we have SO MUCH stuff to share with you. We want you to meet James and our producer/director, Fran Krause. We also have some pretty awesome folks working on the show and a SUPER COOL cast. Make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel now so you don’t miss any of the behind the scenes footage that we share, and also follow us on tumblr, Facebook, or twitter so that you don’t miss our blog posts profiling all of these great folks and sharing exclusive photos, footage and exciting news.  Speaking of exciting news, you should definitely follow us today, cos we might have some! (wink wink, nudge nudge). Also follow the Cartoon Hangover YouTube, tumblr, twitter and facebook because we have even more awesome cartoons coming your way. - Carrie

We recorded a whole buncha voices for SuperF*ckers last week. As always, Mr. Kochalka was brilliant in his coverage of the event!  kochalka: Creating SuperF*ckers, Part Two. While working on the new animated series, I’ve also been shooting these mini-documentaries about the process.  I think you’re gonna like this one… it’s got JACK KRAK in it.  Oh my god, I’m having fun.
